On Friday 7/11/08 Duncan & Casey went to check out the phenomenon known as "Manhattanhenge." After seeing a clip on the news the night before they just had to see what this was all about. A good portion of the City's streets are designed on a near perfect grid of about 30 degrees. Because of this design, about twice per year (correlating with the solstices) the sun sets exactly in between the buildings and is referred to as "Manhattanhenge" (as in Stonehenge).
We stood on top of the Tudor City bridge, which goes across 42nd St., and had an amazing view!
