We're back...and with a new(ish) addition!

I have been delinquent in blogging this past year. But I am happy to have started posting again. At the moment we do not have a fish named popcorn. We are planning to get a new one soon. We do, however, have a baby boy named Jack. He is 9 months old and awesome! Hope you enjoy keeping up with our adventures.
Love,
-Casey

Spring is here!

NYC had great weather this past weekend. Spring is here!!
Saturday the Simmonses took a bike ride to Hudson River Park and had a picnic lunch on the grass.

Meet Adolyn Loraine Grek

Ami (one of Casey's best friends from childhood) & Mark Grek welcomed a baby girl, Adolyn (they call her Addie) into the world last week. Casey & Duncan can't wait to meet her this summer!! Stephanie & Peyton went to the hospital to meet her. Ami's proud parents were there, too.

Meeting Avery Mellon Connelly

Duncan & Casey's close friends Kate & Ciaran (both went to Dartmouth with Duncan) had a baby girl, Avery. C & D really enjoyed meeting her! Since meeting her we've gone to dinner and hung out on the deck- which she prefers.

Stop over in Florida after Argentina

Instead of connecting home right away after their Argentina adventure, Casey & Duncan stayed the night in South Florida and saw some friends. Also, Casey's Dad was in town for work and met them for dinner.

Nice ending to a great trip!

Simmons west visit

Randy & Sally came to the east coast for a visit. First, they stayed with Susie (Sally's sister) & Denis in Long Island for a couple of days. Duncan had Good Friday off so he & Casey headed to LI. They walked on the Jones Beach pier, looked at pictures and an old family video (hillarious), and had a great dinner with bday ice cream cake.

The next day Sally & Randy came back into the City with Duncan & Casey. Randy had never seen their apartment before! They went to The Met. Museum followed by wine & cheese at the balcony bar. They headed back to their n'hood to have dinner at Lil Frankies.

The next day was Easter Sunday. All Simmonses headed downtown to historic Trinity church. Unfortunately they got the service times wrong, but were able to view it- very pretty. They went down the block to St. Paul's Chaple (affiliated with Trinity). After church they hit Prune for brunch and afterwards went to crazy New Museum.
Casey made Easter dinner later that evening and Susie & Denis drove in to join them. They called the Clark's and Ginger (Sally's Mom) to wish them a happy Easter. Randy showed Duncan how to carve the ham. This was the first family dinner that Duncan & Casey hosted- very special!

It was a great visit and we were sad to see them go. Hope they'll come back soon!

Casey's Bday dinner

Duncan took Casey out to Sushi Samba to celebrate her 31st birthday. Fun, fun!

Argentina!!

Where to begin? Our South American adventure was just amazing. This was a new continent & country for Casey- very cool! Part of the trip- Mendoza- was new to Duncan.

They started off the adventure with a few days in Buenos Aires. There were bicycle tours, great food (Casey had more steak in 1 week than in the entire year of 2008), watching tango dancers, futbol game, many relaxing afternoons at outside cafes, fun nightlife, and the feria (artists market).

(Photos: Casey on bicycle tour, the church outside in the huge cemetery in Recoleta, house that Eva Peron lived in or did much work from, Unicef exhibit- all the bears are decorated as representations of all countries around the world, Recoleta cemetery, the Feria- artist market, lunch at cafe la biela, out to dinner in Palermo, celebrating our 1st anniversary, tango dancers, futbol game, la boca district, and president's office- "the pink house.")

In Mendoza there was much relaxing, more great food & wine, relaxing by the pool, white water rafting, hiking/rappelling, horseback ride through a vineyard, bicycling, and exploring of the City and outside areas.

Argentina is a wonderful Country- we will definitely be back!

Carol Clark visit

The weekend after C & D got back from Argentina Duncan headed to Mark Woodard's bachelor party. Casey's Mom came up from Florida to visit. They had the best time "chilling," watching movies, walking around the Village, stopping by the Met. Museum, and going to the Orchid show at the NY Botanical Gardens. It was a very special Mom & Daughter time.

Combined birthday party

Duncan & Casey's birthdays are just about a month apart. So, this year they decided to have a combined party at their apartment. A lot of friends stopped by to celebrate- even bringing cupcakes!

Casey's work trip to FLL

After going to Orlando with Duncan for the weekend, Casey headed to Ft. Lauderdale to work with her Dad. She was able to see some girlfriends at YOLO. Great time!

Duncan goes to CA

Duncan had a meeting in San Fran, but went to see his sister- Erin- and niece Sierra first. Sierra made him cupcakes for his birthday! They also saw Jason, Katie, and Maia Dadakis.
